From fire to forest

Restoring forests, planting hope.

Fire keeps this land bare. We work with the Indigenous Miskito communities of La Mosquitia to stop it, and the forest comes back on its own.

The human stakes

Fire prevention starts with trust.

Stopping the fires means working with the people who live here. Paskaia began as an initiative from the Miskito community itself, and every brigade and nursery is run by local hands.

How it works

The forest is already there. We just have to give it a chance.

The seedlings are already in the ground. They just burn before they can grow. Stop the fires, and whole stretches of savanna turn back into young forest. That is how we restore thousands of hectares at once, not plot by plot.

Now, after just a week of work, I have enough to buy shoes, notebooks, and backpacks for my family.

Why you can count on us

Built on trust, science, and time.

Paskaia is certified under Plan Vivo, the standard built to put communities at the centre of restoration. It sets the rules for how we monitor, report and share the money, and at least 60% of credit revenue goes straight to the communities. We're certified under V4 and migrating to V5, working toward Core Carbon Principles approval. The standard changes. The work on the ground doesn't.
